栖息地：墨西哥-伊达尔戈州，克雷塔罗日阿特亚加
形状：球形，短圆柱形,成年后很容易成群生，在野外它可以形成直径达 80 厘米的群体。主干高4.5-15厘米，直径2.5-6厘米。棱7-14 个,具明显疣，直或有时呈螺旋状。中央刺无或1根，很少3个，直，黄白色或几乎黑色，长5-50毫米。径向刺： 6-20根,不等长，5-7毫米或更长，展开或适度下弯，起初黄白色随着年龄的增长而变成淡红色至灰色。果实具鳞片，深绿色或淡黄色近球形，直径6-9毫米，成熟时干的.种子梨状黑色，长1.4-2毫米，直径1-1.8毫米，种皮网状。
花：春末开花,红色，黄色,白天开晚上闭合,但是不授粉的话会开几天.
